Covid-19 Art Response Assignment
Assignment
This assignment is for all of my classes. I have gone in many directions with what to teach you for this online learning adventure, however, I am adding in this lesson in first because I believe it's what is important at this moment. The other stuff can wait. Art gives you a voice and art has the power to drive change. For this assignment I would like to you create an art piece in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. You can choose to do this in any medium. You will learn design strategies and I will guide you in the process of selecting and using materials. The project is based on this art design contest that I will include here. It brought me to tears but no surprise there.
Contest Website
**Please read through the contest and look at the examples**
You do not have to submit your art piece but are more than welcome to!
Inspiration
"YOUR art has power. Art can heal, art can save lives, and art can bring us together even while we are apart. It can be a compass to guide us through this storm. This is your chance to make work that will be distributed worldwide and will inspire us all to stay strong, safe, and united."
Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, I have see people making art in all kinds of ways. It has been a source of empowerment, hope, and a way to stay connected when we feel so far apart. Here are some ways people are making art in response to the pandemic.
