Objectives:
- I can design a seed pod that comes from an imaginary plant.
- I can create a prototypes of seed pods from this imaginary plant.
- I can create a hollow form.
- I can manipulate a hollow form to create a refined form.
- I can just the additive process and subtractive process to create texture.
Project Requirements:
- Minimum 2 lbs clay to start (1 lb per pinch pot)
- Successful joining of pinch pots to seal in air
- Hollow 'clay balloon' is manipulated in form so that it no longer resembles "Mr. Potato Head" (subtractive, paddling, etc.)
- Evidence of a minimum of two different, deep textures affecting the surface
- Consideration of presentation (self-supporting, hanging, suspended, etc.)
- Air is allowed to escape for kiln firing (you must create a hole in the seal to allow air to escape or piece will explode!)
