Assignment

Your assignment is to make a piece of jewelry or a set of jewelry out of no less than 30 paper beads. You will learn to make the beads of various sizes and shapes. You will also learn to assemble the beading into pieces of jewelry.

• Come up with 3 different jewelry designs and sketch them out.

Think of:

Function- design can be a functioning bracelet, earrings, lanyard, necklace, a jewelry set, or other.

Shape- length and width of beads. See below for different bead shapes.

Color- beads will be the color of the paper you use. Can you find colored paper?

Pattern- do you want to have alternating shapes or colors? How will you assemble the beads together? Look at examples. Beads can be assembled in many ways.

• Collect magazine paper that is of the color you want your beads to be. If you do not have access to colored paper, use news paper, wrapping paper, or any paper you can get your hands on.
