I can decorate a ceramic piece using the sgraffito technique.
Practice requirements:
-Your cylinder needs to be about 5” tall.
-Your cylinder should be about ¼” thick.
-Top should be and even and as smooth as possible.
*Do not keep a cylinder until you practice enough to achieve these things.
*Re-wedge used clay and save, do not throw away.

Assignment:
Create 4 sgraffito design sketches that you will use for your cylinder.
-Design should have:
A balance of positive and negative space
Incorporate repetition.
-Underglaze needs to be applied evenly onto cylinder.
-While cylinder is still leather hard, carve your design using a loop tool. *You are carving out the areas you want to be white.
